Caitlyn Barresi is an associate in Berman Tabacco’s San Francisco office where she is focused on pursuing financial justice for clients and class members.
Caitlyn is a 2024 graduate of University of California College of the Law, San Francisco. While in law school, Caitlyn interned with the Marin County Public Defender Office as part of the Criminal Practice Clinic. Caitlyn was also a board member of the UC Law San Francisco’s Moot Court program, participating in and coaching competition teams. She continues to serve as an alum coach for intercollegiate moot court competition teams, and as a committee member for the UC Law San Francisco Constitutional Law Moot Court Invitational Competition.
Caitlyn earned a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in theater in 2020 from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Caitlyn is admitted to practice law in the State of California.

- Member of the litigation team representing federal student loan borrowers in Gibbs et al v. The Higher Education Loan Authority of Missouri, No. 4:26-CV-00030 (E.D. Mo.), a federal consumer protection class action alleging that MOHELA failed to properly service student loans under the Saving on a Valuable Education loan repayment plan.
- Member of the litigation team representing holders of Morgan Stanley’s fixed-to-floating rate non-cumulative preferred stock in Storn v. Morgan Stanley, No. 1:26-CV-03475 (S.D.N.Y.).
- Member of the litigation team prosecuting In re Outset Medical, Inc. Sec. Litig., No. 5:24-cv-06124-EJD (N.D. Cal.), a federal securities class action alleging that defendants issued false and misleading statements related to Outset’s marketing and promotion of its primary product, the Tablo Hemodialysis System, a dialysis machine used to treat patients suffering from kidney disease.
- Member of the litigation team prosecuting the securities fraud class action Erwin v. Veradigm Inc., No. 1:23-cv-16205 (N.D. Ill.), on behalf of lead plaintiff Alameda County Employees’ Retirement Association against Veradigm, some of its former officers, and its auditor for alleged false statements regarding the company’s financials and lack of internal controls.
