Legal Food Frenzy Raises Money to Provide Over 200,000 Meals, With Berman Tabacco Topping Its Field

May 11, 2018

Berman Tabacco raised enough funds to provide 11,430 meals for the Greater Boston Food Bank as part of the two-week Legal Food Frenzy. That is more than any other firm of its size, making it the winner of the charitable challenge in the “small firm” category.

Overall, the 9th Annual Legal Food Frenzy competition raised enough money to provide 208,335 meals for Massachusetts food banks. The food will be distributed to food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters throughout Massachusetts.

The year’s event marks the eighth year of Berman Tabacco’s participation in the Legal Food Frenzy, and the fourth time the firm has raised the most funds of similarly-sized law firms. The Frenzy is just one part of the firm’s long-standing support and commitment to the organization.  “Whether donating funds or rolling up our sleeves when donating our time sorting and packing food, we are always proud to support The Greater Boston Food Bank,” said Boston partner Leslie Stern, who organizes the firm’s effort for the organization.

The Greater Boston Food Bank’s customers include vulnerable populations; one-third of those the organization helps are children and one-fifth are seniors. In 2017, the organization distributed 60.7 million pounds of food throughout 190 cities and towns in Massachusetts.  More information about the organization is available at https://www.gbfb.org/.
