Firefighters PFAS Litigation

Bobstock, et al. v. 3M Co., et al., No. 1:22-CV-11149 (D. Mass), and Marchetti et al., V. 3M Co., et al., No. 1:22-CV-10251 (D. Mass)

Berman Tabacco represents several current and former Massachusetts firefighters and certain of their spouses in litigation against manufacturers, designers, sellers, suppliers, and distributors of Class B firefighting foams and the specialized turnout gear (or “bunker gear”) worn by firefighters. Each of the firefighter plaintiffs has been diagnosed with and treated for cancers and/or other serious illnesses that plaintiffs allege were caused by the firefighters’ exposure to PFAS chemicals present in firefighting foam and turnout gear.

The actions are presently consolidated within multidistrict litigation involving PFAS-containing firefighting foam pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina as part of In Re Aqueous Film-Forming Foams Products Liability Litig. MDL No. 2783 (D.S.C.).
