Justin Saif Participates in BU Law Public Interest Retreat

October 14, 2026

Berman Tabacco is pleased to share that Justin Saif, Of Counsel in the firm’s Boston office, recently participated in a panel discussion at the Boston University School of Law Public Interest Law Society’s annual Public Interest Retreat. The event brought together law students, professors, practitioners, and public-interest advocates to discuss careers dedicated to addressing large-scale misconduct and advancing the public good.

Justin joined fellow panelists from private practice and government service for a discussion on consumer protection, public-interest litigation, and the different institutional approaches to enforcing the law. The conversation explored topics that included predatory lending and debt practices, the role of private plaintiffs’ firms in addressing widespread misconduct, the relationship between private litigation and government enforcement, and the many paths available to students interested in public-service oriented legal work.

The panel generated a lively discussion and thoughtful audience engagement. During the opening breakfast and after the program, Justin connected with numerous BU Law students eager to learn more about plaintiffs’ litigation, complex class actions, and the practical realities of building a career focused on protecting consumers and investors. Students asked insightful questions about public-interest work, career development, and the skills needed to succeed in the profession.

“One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to speak with students who were genuinely interested in how plaintiffs’ litigation can be used to address large-scale misconduct,” Justin said. “They asked thoughtful questions about the work, the profession, and the different paths available to lawyers who want their careers to have a meaningful impact.”

Justin’s participation reflects Berman Tabacco’s longstanding commitment to mentorship and public service. That commitment extends beyond the courtroom, including engagement with law students and future advocates who are considering careers dedicated to promoting accountability, protecting consumers, and advancing the public interest.
