Berman Tabacco’s Boston Office Holds Volunteer Day at Greater Boston Food Bank

June 16, 2025

On June 4, 2025, Berman Tabacco’s Boston office participated in its near-annual volunteer day at the Greater Boston Food Bank.  Nineteen members of the firm spent two-and-a-half hours sorting pallets of food (including a lot of green beans!) into organized relief boxes for the food bank’s network of local food pantries, shelters, and other communities in need. The Boston office has been proudly supporting and volunteering at the Greater Boston Food Bank for more than a decade.

Together, the group sorted through 11,434 pounds of food.  According to food bank officials, this translated into providing 9,528 meals for those in need—the equivalent of feeding a family of four for 1 year.  Berman Tabacco’s staff is proud to have helped the Greater Boston Food Bank’s goal of distributing one meal per day to every person in need in eastern Massachusetts.

“This regular tradition of service is a great opportunity for our Boston office to bond over our dedication to helping out at such a wonderful organization,” commented Boston Partner Leslie Stern.

The Greater Boston Food Bank’s customers include vulnerable populations. The food bank reports that, in 2024, it distributed 107 million pounds of food—the equivalent of 90 million meals—throughout cities and towns in Massachusetts.
